Mike Pauly, Newcastle to Hobart

StartFragment

Mike has had a rather slow day today but after all, being Sunday it is supposed to be a day of rest.

Not many kilometres travelled but more socialising than usual.

On two occasions Mike was invited to join the Grey Nomads for a cup of tea in their caravans.

One couple from Ireland were a very interesting couple.

One thing Mike commented on and that is the condition of the roads.

Since crossing into Victoria there has been a marked improvement in the condition of the Highway even to the extent that there has been a concrete verge on the side of the road.

Weatherwise and it looks like a 50/50 chance of rain overnight just when he thought he had cleared the menace.

Not many places to shelter in this area either so it could be one of those nights again-wet bum and no fish!

From his current location to the next town, Cann River , heart of the wilderness,is about 40 km with nothing in between.
