Mike Pauly, Newcastle to Hobart

Well Mike has had his trip to Canberra and he enjoyed the break although it was not as successful as he hoped it would be.

He had hoped to meet with the Leader of the Opposition and his local Federal Member but it was not to be.

However he managed to visit a lot of people including the Aboriginal Tent Embassy.

Whilst in Newcastle for the AMSA Conference he met an Aboriginal Elder who entrusted Mike with an important flag.

It was the first flag flown at the Tent Embassy in Canberra and Mike has been entrusted to carry it with him and return it to it’s owners in Newcastle when he completes his walk.

He feels very honoured to be asked to do this.

After two long bus trips Mike returned to Bairnsdale late Tuesday and after a good sleep was met by Jane, Shed Coordinator from East Gippsland Area Health who took Mike to Lakes Entrance for some physiotherapy on his leg.

Jane is the Coordinator for three Sheds in the local area.

Tomorrow he is back on the road again, this time heading for Sale where the Shedders are looking forward to meeting up with Mike.

After that it is Rosedale Shed, about 42 km from Stratford
