Mike Pauly, Adelaide to Perth
StartFragment
Yesterday Mike had hoped to be in Port Pirie even though it may have been a bit late but he was delayed.
On the walk yesterday Mike came across a grass fire so he called the Fire Brigade to attend. This held him up somewhat as he had to wait until they arrived.
He has to have some work done on the buggy and he hopes to call into the Port Pirie Mens Shed to have the repairs carried out.
When I spoke to him today the work was almost completed and he had started to load the buggy again.
Some think it may have been started by Mike’s scorching pace but I have some reservations about that theory.
He has booked into the Bentleys Cabin Park for two nights, the rates are very good as well.
The temperature in the area is forecast to start climbing and should be into the mid to low 40’s by Saturday or Sunday some some rest at the moment will not go astray.
Next major goal is Port Augusta, about 92 km from Port Pirie and there is not much in the way of sizeable towns on the way.
Some time tomorrow will be devoted to carefully stocking up on supplies as the next section of the journey could take about 5 days.
